I don’t do Facebook…

When everyone jumped on Facebook, I didn’t. My initial reservation is the same one I hold today - I simply don’t want everyone knowing everything about me. I don’t want people knowing who all my friends are, or what my friends or family look like. And I don’t need to be ‘friends’ with everyone I’ve ever sat beside in a meeting (that’s what LinkedIn is for) or school or uni friend that I haven’t had contact with for 15 years.

I have a close group of friends and I work hard (sometimes not hard enough) to stay in touch with them on the phone, email or Skype. It works for me…

But I do feel under constant pressure to try it. From friends and family who want to share photos and stories with me, colleagues who have said it is a good way it to network and share and also from myself. I work in PR and claim to know about social media but can I know it unless I have tried the biggest element of it? So my question is? Should I try it? For one month, should I take the giant leap that I haven’t dared before and try Facebook? Who knows I might like it. I would love to know what people think and the reasons why.
